Introduction of Weekly Worship from Pastor Aguilar and Pastor Zorb Introduction of Weekly Worship from Pastor Aguilar and Pastor Zorb -God’s work is progressing in Maricopa! A mission congregation of Mountain View Lutheran Church of Ahwatukee is starting weekly worship services in Maricopa on September 6, 2008. First Baptist Church of Maricopa has graciously offered to let us use the church on late Saturday afternoons for both worship services and church school classes. We are truly blessed with the events that are resulting in weekly services open to all God’s people. Mountain View Lutheran, Grand Canyon Lutheran Synod, and many other spiritually moved congregations and folks have made this possible after months of devoted efforts. Lenten services were offered this past spring followed with monthly worship services conducted the first Saturday of the summer months. Attendance was good and the Holy Spirit has moved us to initiate weekly services. Mountain View Lutheran, under the leadership of Mission Development Director Sheila Coonen, has shepherded a steering committee in Maricopa who is planning the path forward. Pastoral support will primarily be provided by Pastor Cora with assistance from Mountain View Lutheran. Discussions are already underway with Synod for pursuit of a permanent place of worship in Maricopa.

Furniture donation blesses our newly forming Church Furniture donation blesses our newly forming Church -A wonderful donation of almost brand new office furniture has been received by Maricopa Lutheran Church. The furniture which includes a desk, sideboards, and many bookshelves has Pastor and the entire Leadership Team smiling and giving thanks. The furniture donated by a very generous family was completely moved from the Phoenix area to the City of Maricopa by Volunteers. It's amazing to see the blessings that God's people have to share as we develope the mission to community here in Maricopa. The furniture is being used to equip Pastor's office at the Mission House in the Cactus Cove subdisivion.
